The photos below should give you several reasons NOT to let your dog ride unsecured in the back of your truck!! Meet April, she was found by a couple driving on Washington Road Saturday, 4/25/09. They decided that they would put her in the back of their truck & bring her to our shelter. Being scared, she jumped out of the back of the truck onto the road. Even at low speeds, you can see what happened. Many thanks to the caring staff at Augusta Animal Emergency (AAE), who treated her for over a month for severe injuries to all 4 paws. April is a very lucky dog & we hope that by seeing these graphic images you will not let this happen to your pet.
